Tehran: The tension between America and Iran has now reached a dangerous point. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, has claimed that it has simultaneously attacked American military bases in the Gulf with missiles and drones. Iran says that this attack is a response to America's airstrike which it recently carried out on Iranian targets.

Which American targets did Iran target?

According to IRGC, a total of 8 American military bases were targeted in this operation. These also include Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the US Navy's Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain. The Iranian army claims that the attacks were carried out by both missiles and drones.

What warning did Iran give to America?

According to Iranian government media, IRGC issued a statement saying, 'If ceasefire violations are not stopped, all avenues of dialogue will be closed. ' Iran has accused America of breaking the agreement and said that bigger revenge will be taken in future.

What happened in Kuwait and Bahrain?

Kuwait's air defence system became active after the attack. The Kuwaiti army said that its air defence unit is engaged in stopping enemy missiles and drones. On the other hand, air strike sirens started ringing in Bahrain. The government there has appealed to the people to go to safe places and obey the army.

What action had America taken earlier?

Earlier, the US Central Command i.e. CENTCOM had admitted that it had attacked many military bases of Iran. The US Army had blown up surveillance systems, communication networks, air defence, drone warehouses and sea mine-laying bases. America claimed that this action was a response to the Iranian drone attack on the Panamanian oil tanker.

Why has tension increased in the area?

Both America and Iran are accusing each other of attacking first and breaking the ceasefire. Due to the continuous military action, there is an atmosphere of fear in the Gulf of Hormuz and the entire Gulf area. Experts believe that if neither country stops, this fight will engulf the entire area.
