International News: It has been 3 months since the 12-day war between Iran and Israel ended. Now Iran has shown a soft stance regarding its nuclear program. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said in a press conference on Monday that if the US and European countries remove unfair economic sanctions, then Iran is ready to accept some limits on the nuclear program.

He reminded us that even at the time of the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA), Iran had accepted many voluntary restrictions, like setting a limit on uranium enrichment and a ban on new machines. Ismail Baghai has clearly said that if the sanctions are lifted, we will also cooperate, but do not expect concessions from us without relief.

Talks with Europe, door open for future

Baghaei said that talks with the three European countries are ongoing, and Tehran is also ready for another round of talks, although no concrete decision has been taken yet. The spokesperson mentioned the visit of the Deputy Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He said that after the attacks by Israel and America, it became necessary that Iran and the IAEA find a new way of mutual coordination. Baghai said that for the first time in history, a country's peaceful nuclear sites were attacked, and then there was a need for inspection. This is the reason why discussions had to be held on security and safety.

What happened in the 12-day war?

On June 13, Israel attacked Iran and targeted military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 days. Then on June 22, America also jumped in and fired missiles on the nuclear sites of Natanz, Fordo, and Isfahan. But Iran did not keep quiet. The IRGC Aerospace Force launched Operation True Promise-III and fired missiles on Israel in 22 rounds. Apart from this, missiles were also fired on Qatar's Al-Udeid Air Base, America's largest military base.

The fighting stopped on 24 June

After continuous attacks and counterattacks, a ceasefire was finally implemented on 24 June, and the tensions were eased a little. Overall, Iran has taken a big U-turn on its nuclear stance and has sent a message to the world that if sanctions like punishment are lifted, then it is also ready to follow the rules.
