ISI-Brokered IS and Lashkar Alliance: Terrorists Gift Pistols, Pose Threat to India (TIN)
ISI-Brokered IS and Lashkar Alliance: 'According to a recent report, a serious concern has come up about the security situation in South Asia.' Under the guidance of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, a secret nexus has been established between the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The purpose of this alliance is being said to harm the regional stability and especially to spread unrest in India.
According to the report, ISI has united ISKP and LeT as a strategic alliance. It aims to spread unrest in areas such as Balochistan and Afghanistan and promote militancy again in Jammu & Kashmir. The seriousness of this alliance can be gauged from the fact that ISKP's Balochistan Coordinator, Mir Shafiq Mangal, presented a pistol to LeT Commander Rana Mohammad Ashfaq, which symbolizes the growing partnership of both organizations.
The report states that after Operation Sindoor, Pakistan relocated several militant groups to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Lashkar-e-Taiba is also included in this. These groups have now joined ISKP operations, targeting Baloch nationalists and independent Taliban factions.
According to experts, ISI has provided financial assistance and weapons to ISKP's operational base in Mastung and Khuzdar since 2018. Its main objective is to target Baloch separatists and to carry out cross-border attacks into Afghanistan. The shadow of history is also seen in this alliance, when Lashkar-e-Taiba and Al-Qaeda collaborated during the Afghan Jihad. Now the same partnership is emerging in a new form, which may pose a serious threat to regional security.
ISKP's own magazine, "Yalgar," also highlights the seriousness of this alliance. It mentions a plan to increase terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. It gives a clear message that under Pakistan's strategy, this alliance has been designed not only to spread unrest in the region but also to challenge India's security. Experts say that this alliance of ISKP and Lashkar-e-Taiba will directly affect the security of South Asia. In such a situation, it is necessary for India to take vigilance and take strategic steps by taking this danger seriously. This alliance has made it clear that terrorism has now taken the form of organized cooperation, not just a single group issue, which is a challenge for the entire region.
