Israel attacks 'the heart of Tehran' for first time since conflict began (X)
Tehran: Israel Defence Forces said that Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a raid conducted by the Israeli Air Force. As per the statement issued by the IDF, Khamenei “was targeted in a precise, large-scale operation carried out by the Israeli Air Force, guided by accurate IDF intelligence, while he was in his central leadership compound in the heart of Tehran, where he was together with additional senior officials."
Israel in the statement said that it had struck “the heart of Tehran” for the first time since the latest US-Israeli attacks began.
According to a statement, the strikes targeted government sites, with previous attacks focusing on establishing aerial superiority to pave the way to the capital.
In the video, large smoke were reported rising from Tehran following the strikes from the Israel.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) officially claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader was killed in an airstrike in Tehran on Saturday.
The military in the statement said Ali Khamenei was targeted in a precise, large-scale operation carried out by the Israeli Air Force, guided by accurate IDF intelligence, while he was in his central leadership compound alongside other senior officials.
“Khamenei was the architect of plans to destroy the State of Israel and was known as the ‘head of the Iranian octopus,’ with influence stretching across the Middle East, including Hezbollah. He was responsible for terrorist attacks against Israel, and the blood of many civilians worldwide was on his hands,” the IDF said.
The military said that Khamenei’s death “brings an end to a decades-long chapter with the elimination of the leader of the Iranian terror axis,” and added that it follows a series of targeted eliminations of senior figures in the terror network carried out by the IDF during the conflict.
