To commemorate the 26/11 attacks, Israel on Tuesday has declared a ban on Lashkar-e-Taiba. They have symbolised the organisation as a ‘deadly’ and ‘reprehensible’ terror outfit. Lashkar-e-Taiba is a Pakistan based terror organisation.

It is to be noted here that the action by Israel Embassy has been taken without any request from Government of India. The Israel Embassy in India sent a press release stating that the state of Israel has officially finished all relevant processes and satisfied all checks and regulations as a result of adding Lashkar-e-Taiba to the Israeli list of unlawful terror organisations.

In the press release, the embassy highlighted that Israel only lists terror organisations that are actively operating against it form within or around its borders, or in a similar manner to India - those globally recognised by UNSC or the US state department, said, "Israel ministers of Defence and Foreign Affairs have jointly worked in last few months towards an expedited and extraordinary listing of the Lashkar -e- Taiba organization on this date, to highlight the importance of a Unified Global Front in combating terrorism."

The release also added that the terror organisation is also responsible for the murder of several Indian nationals too. It noted, "Lashkar -e- Taiba is a deadly and reprehensible terror organization, responsible for the murder of hundreds of Indian civilians as well as others. Its heinous actions on November 26, 2008 still reverberate in force, through all peace seeking nations and societies."

Here’s what Embassy of Israel in India said:

Embassy of Israel in India said, "To symbolize the marking of the 15th year of commemoration of the Mumbai terror attacks, the state of Israel has listed Lashkar -e- Taiba as a Terror Organization. Despite not being requested by the Government of India to do so, the state of Israel has formally completed all necessary procedures and has satisfied all required checks and regulations to the result of introducing Lashkar -e- Taiba into the Israeli list of illegal terror organizations."
