International News: Tensions between India and the United States over tariffs have been steadily increasing. US President Donald Trump has been issuing repeated warnings to India while raising tariff rates on several products. However, the Indian government has made it clear that any decision it takes will be in the nation’s best interest and will not be influenced by pressure from Washington. Despite Trump’s statements, India is not backing down.

The escalating trade tensions have raised questions about Israel’s stance, given its strong diplomatic and economic relationships with both India and the United States. The answer came directly from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who openly voiced his support for India’s strategic approach.

Netanyahu Stands with India

In a meeting with India’s Ambassador to Israel, J.P. Singh, Netanyahu commended India for maintaining a firm and independent position in the ongoing tariff dispute. He emphasized that there is a clear understanding in Washington, D.C., that India is an important and reliable partner for the United States.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, focused on deepening bilateral relations between India and Israel. Discussions included plans to strengthen cooperation in the fields of security, defense technology, and economic development. Netanyahu also conveyed his eagerness to visit India soon, stating that he wishes to make the trip at the earliest possible opportunity.

Strong India–Israel Friendship

The Israeli Prime Minister highlighted the depth of the relationship between the two nations. He described India and Israel as close friends with shared values and mutual interests. Netanyahu said he believed that despite the current tariff disagreements, India and the US would be able to resolve their differences through dialogue, given their long-standing friendship.

According to a statement shared on the Israeli Prime Minister’s social media accounts, both leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation in several key areas, especially security and the economy.

Netanyahu’s Remarks on Gaza

Apart from trade discussions, Netanyahu also spoke about the ongoing situation in Gaza during an interview with Fox News. He reiterated his intention to establish full control over Gaza, stating that Israel aims to free the territory from Hamas’s influence. He said the goal is to hand over administration to a civilian authority that is neither linked to Hamas nor supports Israel’s destruction.

Netanyahu made it clear that his government’s priority is ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens while working toward long-term peace and stability in the region.

A strong diplomatic signal

Netanyahu’s clear backing of India in the tariff dispute delivers a powerful message on the diplomatic front. It not only reaffirms Israel’s trust in India as a strategic partner but also shows that despite global trade tensions, some alliances remain steady and resilient. His upcoming visit to India is expected to further boost bilateral ties, especially in defense and economic sectors, at a time when global politics is undergoing significant shifts.
