Avoid Kashmir and Pakistan Border Areas: Canada & UK Issue Strict Travel Warnings to Citizens

International News: In response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, there is increasing tension between India and Pakistan after India demolished 9 terrorist bases under 'Operation Sindoor'. In view of this increasing threat, Canada and Britain have issued a special travel advisory for their citizens, which has been given strict instructions to avoid travel in some sensitive areas of India.

Advisory: stay away from J&K and border areas

The Canadian government has advised to avoid a visit to Jammu and Kashmir (except Ladakh), especially in its advisory, in its advisory.

Advisory has been warned that:

  • There is a threat to terrorist attacks.
  • Things in Jammu and Kashmir can worsen at any time.

Britain has also warned its citizens not to travel to Jammu and Kashmir after the Indian AIRRIC on the night of 6 May. The British government has said:

  • Citizens should not believe any rumor.
  • Take updates related to travel directly from airlines.
