Pakistan Bomb Blast: 4 students injured in ‘Toy Bomb’ explosion inside School in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (AI/TIN)
Pakistan Bomb Blast: In another tragic incident, at least four school children got injured after a bomb blast inside a classroom in north-western Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as per the reports of local police on Saturday. According to the reports, the incident took place in Jamrud tehsil, of Khyber district on Friday. It lies along the border area of Afghanistan.
As per the statement of the school authorities, a fourth-grade pupil found what he thought to be a toy while on his way to school. Later, it was discovered that the object, was an unexploded mortar shell, which is commonly known as a “toy bomb" in the region. Unknowingly, the kid carried it into his classroom, where it detonated, injuring four students.
However, authorities claimed that such devices are remains of decades of militant activity along the Afghan border, and children in those area often get confused and consider it as harmless toys. Police personnel have launched an investigation and cordoned off as part of the safety measures.
In the recent time, a series of bombings incident were reported across Pakistan. A similar incident was reported on September 30, when a powerful car bomb blast occured outside the headquarters of the paramilitary Frontier Corps in Quetta, Balochistan. At least 10 people were and more that 30 people were injured in the this bomb blast. The blast was followed by heavy gunfire, plunging the city into panic.
Meanwhile, on September 4, a suicide bomber attacked a rally of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) in Quetta. In this bomb blast, as many as 15 people were killed and more than 30 people were injured in the Pakistan blast. Reportedly, this bomb blast in Pakistan occurred near the stadium’s parking area. Later, the Islamic State militant group claimed the responsibility for the deadly Paksitan attack.
