According to the Health Ministry, in the first phase, this vaccine is planned to be administered to minor girls of Islamabad, Punjab, POK, Sindh, while in the second phase, the vaccination campaign will be conducted in Balochistan and Khyber. There is a lot of commotion in Pakistan regarding this vaccine. Big question- what is HPV vaccine?

The full name of this vaccine is Human Papilloma Virus. It eliminates cervical cancer of the uterus. Married people have the highest risk of cervical cancer in their uterus. In the name of awareness and caution, the government has decided to get this vaccine administered.

Talking to BBC Urdu, Islamabad's District Health Officer Rashida Batool said that an estimated five thousand women in Pakistan suffer from cervical cancer every year. 3000 women are not able to survive this disease every year. The government is trying to eradicate it completely.

70 percent of women infected with HPV develop cervical cancer. It is found only in women. The Pakistan government says that it is following the WHO rules regarding the vaccine. The World Health Organization says that if the vaccine is given in time, then this risk can be easily prevented.

Decision to employ only minor girls

The government of Pakistan has decided to administer this vaccine only to minor girls. There are 1 crore girls in Pakistan whose age is between 9-14 years. However, questions are also being raised as to why this decision has not been taken to administer this vaccine to married women.

Pakistan government officials say that this vaccine reduces cervical cancer by 90 percent. It has been decided to administer this vaccine to secure the future of girls.

There has been a ruckus about the polio vaccine
