New Delhi: People in PoK are troubled for many days. The reason is clear, inflation has increased a lot, electricity rates have gone up, there is no employment and there is a shortage of basic things like water, roads, and hospitals. Common people along with local organizations and social workers came on the streets. They say that they are not getting their rights and facilities. Loud slogans were raised against the administration at many places including Muzaffarabad. In the videos that are viral on social media, the crowd is raising slogans of “Haq do” and “Insaf chahiye”. These videos have not yet been independently verified.

Was there a clash with security forces?

According to some reports, the atmosphere became tense during the demonstration. A stampede-like situation is visible in the viral videos. Local groups allege that the force used force to disperse the crowd, but till now no detailed statement has come from the government or the police on this. Awaiting the official version.

Why did the slogans of “Azadi” echo?

In videos from some places, people are heard raising slogans of "Azadi". Just because of this, a debate has erupted on social media. Political analysts are saying that from time to time people in PoK have been demanding their political rights and better representation. But it is not yet clear how many people these slogans are the voices of. The same thing is not happening everywhere.

Have such demonstrations taken place before?

This is not the first time. In the last few years, there have been several movements in PoK against inflation, power cuts and government decisions. There were large scale protests in 2024 also. Then the administration had to accept some demands. Experts say that if people's financial and everyday problems are not solved on time, anger will come out again and again.

What is the Pakistan government saying?

Generally the Pakistani administration describes such demonstrations as a matter of "law and order". Officers say that efforts are being made to solve the problems of the public and violence will not be tolerated, but no major official statement has come yet on this latest protest. Everyone is waiting for that.

What could happen next?

If the protest spreads further, pressure on the administration will increase. People's demands may have to be accepted. Also, the world will now keep an eye on the situation in PoK. At present, everyone is watching whether a solution will be found through talks or the tension will increase further. Whether the administration will bow down or act strictly will decide what will happen next.
