Pakistan threatens to wipe Israel off the map, claims Mossad plot to assassinate Asim Munir
Islamabad: Pakistan has threatened to wipe Israel off the map. This revelation comes from a Brazilian journalist—the same journalist who recently claimed that the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, had hatched a plot to assassinate Pakistan's Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir. This claim has caused a sensation worldwide; however, there has been no official response from either Israel or Pakistan so far.
Brazilian journalist Pepe Escobar has claimed that Mossad plotted to assassinate Asim Munir during a recent meeting between the US and Iran held in Switzerland. The journalist alleges that Pakistan was infuriated by this and issued a direct threat to Israel, stating, "If even a finger is laid on our officials, we will wipe Israel off the world map."
The entire controversy began during a podcast hosted by Lebanese-Australian political analyst Mario Nawfal. Journalist Pepe Escobar, appearing as a guest, made several significant claims citing highly credible intelligence. According to Escobar, the Pakistan Army had received concrete intelligence that, on the orders of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Mossad was preparing to target Asim Munir and his accompanying delegation at the Bürgenstock Resort in Switzerland. The Pakistani delegation was there in connection with ongoing talks between the US and Iran; Pakistan and Qatar were acting as mediators in these negotiations. The interview further claimed that when Pakistan got wind of this alleged plot, it threatened Israel. Escobar stated, "Pakistan sent a stern message directly to Israel through its intermediaries"—reportedly referring to Oman. In this message, Pakistan declared, "If you even lay a finger on our delegation, we will wipe you off the world map—period."
These massive claims regarding Israel and Mossad have sparked a stir. Meanwhile, observing the situation escalate, some Pakistani officials have dismissed such reports. Citing a senior security official, the Pakistani news channel ARY News termed the report as utter nonsense and a fabrication.
The Pakistani official reportedly stated that the entire visit to Switzerland by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir concluded peacefully, without any concerns or hindrances. According to him, neither Swiss nor American security teams raised any security alerts or even minor concerns during their stay at the Swiss resort.
