Bomb Blast in Pakistan: At least nine people were killed and four law enforcement officers injured in a bomb blast in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Thursday. Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Mian Saeed confirmed the incident.

Police Van Targeted

Mian Saeed stated that the attack targeted police officers. Initial investigation revealed that the explosive equipment was installed on the way to the police's mobile van. After the blast, the rescue team rushed the injured to the nearest hospital, where the condition of a police officer was stated to be critical.

A large number of security forces deployed

Soon after the explosion, a large number of security forces reached the spot and laid siege to the area. Senior Superintendent of Police (Operation) Masood Bangash told Dawn that the law enforcement teams are collecting evidence from the scene.

Deadly explosion also occurred in Quetta

The incident occurred at a time when a horrific explosion occurred near the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. At least 10 people died and 32 people were injured in this attack on 30 September. Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar confirmed the dead and said that all the injured were being treated in the civil hospital.

According to police, eight bodies were brought to the hospital after the Quetta blast. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Special Operations Muhammad Baloch said the blast occurred when a vehicle turned from Model Town onto Hali Road, near the FC headquarters.

Officials Condemn

Pictures and videos of the Quetta blast also appeared on social media and TV channels. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack and called it a terrorist action. He said that security forces immediately retaliated and killed four attackers. Bugti further stated that an operation against the terrorists was already underway.
