International News: White House Senior Trade and Manufacturing Advisor Peter Navarro once again created a buzz with his sharp comments on the BRICS countries. He specifically targeted India and said that it is difficult for the countries of this group to survive without America.

Navarro said in a TV interview, "When these countries sell their exports to the US, it is like exploiting our resources. These are unequal trade methods." He also cited mutual differences between the BRICS countries and said that in history these countries have often fought among themselves.

Sarcasm on India and China

In the same statement, Navarro questioned the relations between India and China and said that the mutual conflict between the two countries is decades old. According to him, this alliance of BRICS countries cannot be permanent because they often ignore the role of America in their trade and political interests.

The BRICS group was started by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Later, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates joined in 2024, and Indonesia in 2025.

Had made controversial comments about China earlier too

Navarro had earlier made similar criticism about China. In May 2025, he said that if China could not take advantage of America, then it would try to take "profit" from Europe and the UK. At that time, a tariff dispute was going on between American and Chinese companies, in which the US imposed a 245% tax on Chinese goods and China imposed a retaliatory duty of 125%.

Allegations against India and social media reaction

Navarro also accused India of profiting from oil trade with Russia and helping Russia's war machine. This statement was fact-checked on the X platform. Elon Musk supported the fact-check process, saying that people decide the story on the platform and the information of all parties is public.

Navarro's attack came a day after US President Donald Trump announced an additional 25% tariff on imports from India, which came into effect on August 27. This takes the total duty on India to 50%.
