'Pledge to Allah fulfilled': What did Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's last Tweet say? (X)
Tehran: Iranian media on Sunday officially announced that the death of the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the age of 86 in joint air strikes by the US and Israel. Tehran initially denied these claims, but government agencies later confirmed them, calling him a "martyr."
The Iranian government has also declared 40 days of national mourning and seven days of public holiday across the country.
Just hours prior, US President Donald Trump had also claimed on social media that Khamenei had been killed in the US-Israel joint missile strikes.
Khamenei's last post on X shows a verse from the Quran, drawn from Surah Al-Ahzab (33:23), evoked themes of unwavering faith, martyrdom, and steadfastness in the face of trials.
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah; among them is he who has fulfilled his vow, and among them is he who awaits, and they have not altered in the least."

Khamenei's second last social media post is written in Persian, which invoked the name of Haidar, the first Shia Imam and a central figure in Shia Islam.
The post shared on X from Khamenei’s account states, “Be nām-e nāmi-ye Haidar, alayhis-salām," which translates to, “In the exalted name of Haidar (peace be upon him)."

Donald Trump posted on his social media platforms that Khamenei was "one of the worst people in history" and that he could not escape US intelligence. He also wrote that this is an opportunity for the Iranian people to take back their country.
Trump further claimed that many members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and other security forces are not in favor of continuing the fighting and want "immunity." He warned that the bombing would continue until peace was established in the area.
