PM Modi Arrives In Seychelles On Historic 3-Day Visit For Golden Jubilee Celebrations

Seychelles: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Seychelles on June 27, Saturday. He was there for a three-day official visit. The President of Seychelles, Patrick Hermani, broke protocol to welcome him at the airport. Modi thanked him for welcoming and great gesture. Modi said Seychelles is an important maritime partner in the Indian Ocean and a close friend. He said he is excited about the visit. The goal is to strengthen old ties and increase cooperation between the two nations.

What Modi will do?

Modi will attend the golden jubilee celebration of Seychelles' national day. He will have talks with President Hermani. The two will discuss ways to make the relationship stronger. PM Modi said, "I am going to Seychelles where I will attend their national day celebration. This year is even more special because it is the golden jubilee. This year marks 50 years since India and Seychelles established diplomatic ties. Our relations are based on mutual trust, shared democratic values, respect for diversity and deep people-to-people bonds." Indian armed forces will take part in the celebrations. Two Indian Navy warships will be there. Indian military personnel will participate in the golden jubilee events. Modi last visited Seychelles in 2015.
