Johannesburg: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the second session of the G20 summit in Johannesburg, said that the world will have to work together on climate issues to strengthen food security. He said that the “Deccan Principles” prepared during India's presidency are a big step in this direction, and their objective is to promote better production, a stable supply, and a secure food system.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi expressed happiness that the Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group started by India is now becoming a priority for many countries. He said that providing relief after disasters is not enough; rather, we have to create systems that can face future crises.
Modi appealed to the G20 countries to join the 'Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.' He said that strong infrastructure becomes the biggest support during natural disasters, and developing countries especially need this support.
In the first session of the summit, PM Modi said that the world cannot run on the old development model. Africa is hosting the G20 for the first time, and this is an opportunity to steer development in a more inclusive and sustainable direction. Referring to “Integral Humanism,” he said that India's vision of life can show the world the path to balanced development.
Creating a resilient world for the growth of all.

Bringing it on one platform can be beneficial for the entirety of humanity, and India can make a big contribution in this field.
Modi said that India has always stood with Africa, and it is a matter of pride for India that under its chairmanship the African Union got permanent membership of G20. He also proposed the G20-Africa Skills Initiative, which aims to create one million trained trainers in Africa over the next ten years.
