SCO Summit 2025:  At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bluntly attacked Pakistan on the issue of terrorism. Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, he said that it is not just an attack on India but on the entire humanity. The special thing was that Modi's speech happened when Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present in the meeting.

Is supporting terrorism acceptable?

In his address, the Prime Minister said that recently we saw a very disgusting form of terrorism in Pahalgam. I express my gratitude to the friendly countries that stood with us in this difficult time. This attack was not only a blow to the soul of India but also a challenge against every country and person who believes in humanity. In such a situation, the question arises. Can open support to terrorism by some countries be accepted?

Three pillars of India's policy regarding SCO

PM Modi clarified the three basic pillars of India's policy regarding SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation).

1. S means Security

2. C means Connectivity

3. O means Opportunity

PM Modi said that the foundation of development rests on peace, security and stability, but terrorism, separatism and radicalism are the biggest obstacles in this path. The Prime Minister reiterated from this platform that any kind of progress is not possible without ensuring security.

Double standards are not acceptable

Prime Minister Modi categorically stated that any kind of double standards regarding terrorism will not be tolerated. He appealed to all member countries to unite and strongly oppose terrorism in all its forms and colours. Modi said that until a collective and strict stand is not taken on this problem, global peace and stability will remain incomplete.

A strong message for Shehbaz Sharif

When Prime Minister Modi targeted the Pahalgam terror attack and the countries supporting terrorism, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was sitting right in front of him. According to sources, as soon as Modi mentioned the terror attack, Shahbaz Sharif's face became clearly uneasy and his face turned pale. This was a direct and clear message from India to Pakistan that compromise on terrorism is no longer possible.

The need for global cooperation

In his address, the Prime Minister also underlined that multilateral forums like SCO are important not only for enhancing mutual cooperation but also for tackling global challenges. He said that if member countries open a common front against terrorism, not only regional security but also economic progress and connectivity will get a new impetus.
