PM Narendra Modi meets Keir Starmer in Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Mumbai on Thursday. Notably, this is UK PM's first official visit to India. During the meeting the two leaders shook hands and exchanged warm greeting. Notably, PM Modi and his British counterpart Keir Starmer are set to hold talks on the strengthening the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Notably, their meeting is likely to focus on cooperation in defence, trade, technology, education, investment, and climate. After their meeting, the two leaders are also expected to participate in the CEO Forum and the Global Fintech Fest 2025.
As this is UK PM Starmer’s first official visit to India, he was warmly welcomed by PM Modi at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Notably, the two nation also signed a major free trade agreement in July. The UK PM is also accompanied by the UK trade delegation to India, including 125 members.

On UK PM Starmer’s arrival in Mumbai, PM Modi called the visit as historic. PM Modi in his X post wrote, "Welcome Prime Minister Keir Starmer on your historic first visit to India with the largest ever trade delegation from the UK. Looking forward to our meeting tomorrow for advancing our shared vision of a stronger, mutually prosperous future."
Today, the two leaders are likely to attend the CEO Forum and the 6th edition of the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. Notably, this is going to provide multiple opportunities for engagement with industry leaders and policymakers from both nations.
