PAK MUNIR (socail media)

International News: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's cabinet has promoted the current Army Chief General Asim Munir to the rank of Field Marshal. This decision was taken on the basis of the strategic leadership of the army in "Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos" against India. However, after this decision, discussions of old incidents have once again intensified in Pakistan's politics because history shows that whenever a Prime Minister of Pakistan has promoted an army officer 'out of promotion', his political or personal life has been in danger, i.e. he has been murdered.

Asim Munir awarded highest military honour

General Asim Munir has been given the highest rank in the Pakistan Army, Field Marshal. This rank is a five-star military rank, which is above the normal four-star general. This rank is given in very rare cases in Pakistan. For the first time since 1959, a Pakistani military officer has received this post, before this only General Ayub Khan had received this status, the reason behind Munir's promotion is being told that he led the army in a better way in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos against India. History is a witness that whenever a Prime Minister in Pakistan has promoted a senior army officer exceptionally, then within a few years he himself has become a victim of political conspiracy or has been murdered.

Liaquat Ali Khan and Ayub Khan

Pakistan's first Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan made General Ayub Khan the Commander in Chief and later he became Field Marshal. But in 1951 Liaquat Ali Khan was shot dead during a public meeting in Rawalpindi. Till date the motive of his killer is not completely clear.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Zia-ul-Haq

Bhutto had appointed General Zia-ul-Haq as Army Chief by ignoring senior generals. But later the same Zia-ul-Haq came to power and Bhutto was hanged. There was international criticism of Bhutto's hanging in 1979 as a conspiracy. The way Shahbaz Sharif has appointed Asim Munir as Field Marshal is not only a military decision but its political meanings are also being drawn. Democracy in Pakistan is already based on a weak structure and the interference of the army has played an important role in every change of power there.
