International News: Peace Talk Russia Ukraine: Peace talks have started between Russia and Ukraine for the first time in the last seven weeks. This important conversation took place in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday. Negotiators from both countries are once again sitting face-to-face, but this time the atmosphere is a little different because of US President Donald Trump, who has given a stern warning to Russia.
Donald Trump has openly said that if no peace agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine within the next 50 days, then new and very tough sanctions will be imposed on Russia and the countries doing business with it. This warning from Trump has created a stir in international politics, and the pressure on Russia is increasing rapidly.
Ukraine wants this dialogue to open the way for direct talks between the presidents of the two countries, Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. It is believed that if this summit takes place, it can prove to be a big step towards ending the war. However, the Kremlin has not yet expressed any hope of any major result from this dialogue.
Earlier, in the meetings held on May 16 and June 2, the two countries exchanged prisoners of war and bodies of dead soldiers. However, those meetings were very short, and no concrete results came out regarding peace. Interestingly, the relationship between Trump and Zelensky, which was previously tense, is now improving. After the debate in the White House, warmth is now being seen in the dialogue between the two leaders. At the same time, Trump's anger towards Putin seems to be increasing continuously.
