Nuclear Threat
International News: Till now you must have heard that bunkers are built for the safety of common people in times of war or disaster. But now these bunkers are being made into super-luxury safe houses for billionaires. These are such underground shelters, which have been designed to survive not only war but also nuclear attack, climate change, and any major global crisis. The special thing is that these will not be ordinary bunkers, but places with facilities like luxurious resorts.
Where, along with security and necessary arrangements, there will be provision for a spa and good food and drinks. Recently, the American company Safe announced that it will build more than 1000 bunkers in different cities across the world. The name of the company's project is Aerie, which means "eagle's nest."
A few years ago, Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg announced plans to build a similar huge complex in Hawaii. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has also invested in such preparations. Now this market is growing continuously, and its demand among billionaires is increasing rapidly. Naomi Corby, Operations and Medical Prevention Director of Safe Company, told BBC News Brazil that these bunkers will be a kind of exclusive club.
According to a BBC report, the price of these bunkers will depend on their size. For example, a 185-square-meter bunker will cost around 2 million dollars, i.e., around 18 crores, while the price of bigger bunkers can go up to 20 million dollars, i.e., around 180 crores. The company claims that there will be no shortage of water, food, electricity, and medical facilities in these bunkers. They will be completely independent of the grid and will remain self-sufficient for a long time.
Interestingly, every bunker will also have a small jail so that if any member or staff inside goes wrong, he can be kept in custody there. Corby said that this jail will be like a modern detention center. These bunkers have been given the status of SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility), which means their security will be like the White House Crisis Room. Looking at the current geopolitical situation, the demand for these bunkers is constantly increasing.
