Saudi Arabia: Over dozen killed as Saudi Aramco crashes in Ras Tanura

Riyadh: In a tragic incident, over 14 people were killed when a helicopter belonging to petroleum giant Saudi Aramco crashed in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Preliminary reports indicate that the helicopter belonged to Saudi Aramco, and the crash took place near a major oil refinery. A rescue operation was launched immediately following the accident, but the lives of the 14 individuals could not be saved.

The cause of the crash is not yet known, and an investigation is underway. According to a report by the Saudi Press Agency, all those who perished in the crash were residents of Saudi Arabia.

Earlier on Sunday, a major aviation accident occurred in France. A small plane crashed near the city of Nancy in the eastern part of the country, claiming the lives of 11 people. Rescue operations began immediately upon news of the crash, with emergency teams—including fire brigades and police—rushing to the scene.
