Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has reportedly become paranoid about his personal security after Operation Sindoor (X @Drift_Core)
Islamabad: With the so-called ‘unknown gunmen’ eliminating a host of terrorist leaders in recent years, their terror seems to have permeated even the highest levels of the ruling elite in Pakistan.
According to reports in the local media, Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has imposed an intricate web of security arrangements for both private and public appearances.
Munir has reportedly taken to wearing a bulletproof vest while appearing in public and even during private meetings. This bulletproof jacket that covers him from front to back and could be clearly made out under his uniform in viral social media photos.
The Field Marshal also attends meeting at the Pakistan Army headquarters in Rawalpindi while sitting behind a bulletproof glass screen.
Munir’s paranoia has triggered speculation that he is terrified of further military action by India following the brutal hammering suffered by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor earlier this year.
During Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces had destroyed over a dozen targets across Pakistan, including air bases and terrorist headquarters.
According to Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari, Munir was hiding inside an underground bunker during Operation Sindoor.
The visible fear and paranoia displayed by the Pakistan Army chief has made him a target of mockery among people across the troubled country.
Netizens are openly mocking Asim Munir even as a video showing him attending a meeting inside the Pakistan Army headquarters behind a layer of bulletproof glass has gone viral.
