Sydney: On the evening of 14 December 2025, people were celebrating at Bondi Beach in Sydney. There was light on the beach, children were laughing, and families were together. Hanukkah, the holy festival of the Jewish community, was in full swing. But no one had imagined that within a few minutes this place would become a picture of mourning.
At around quarter to seven in the evening, when the program was in full swing, three armed men suddenly entered the crowd. These people dressed in black started firing without saying anything. People did not understand what was happening. Wherever he was, he started running to save his life.
According to eyewitnesses, the entire area was shaken by the sound of gunshots. Some people ran away carrying children in their arms; some kept searching for their family members. Many people entered nearby cafes and shops and hid under tables. There were only screams, crying, and fear everywhere.
The attackers kept firing continuously for about 20 minutes. No help could reach for so long. People were feeling completely helpless. Many injured people were taken to the hospital by the common people in their own vehicles, because the situation was deteriorating very fast.
12 people died in this attack, while more than 60 people were injured. The condition of many injured is said to be serious. Bondi Beach, which was full of happiness till some time ago, was now immersed in blood, scattered items, and silence.
In this confusion, a name emerged: Al Ahmed. Ahmed, who runs a fruit shop nearby, did not care about his life. When a terrorist was opening fire, Ahmed attacked him from behind. They snatched his rifle and fired back. For this reason an attacker had to retreat. Ahmed himself was also injured. He was shot in his leg and shoulder, but at present he is out of danger. Today people in Sydney consider him a bigger hero than a common man.
As soon as information about the incident was received, police reached the spot and surrounded the area. One terrorist was killed on the spot in the encounter, while two were captured alive. The condition of one of them is critical. Two policemen were also injured during this action.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said that this attack was clearly targeted at the Jewish community. He assured that the culprits will not be spared at any cost and there is no place for hatred in the country.
The terrorist killed during the investigation was identified as Naved Akram. The documents recovered from him have confirmed that he is a Pakistani citizen. Now security agencies are trying to find out whether this attack was part of a bigger network or whether there was an international conspiracy behind it.
Incidents against the Jewish community have already come to light in Australia.
The biggest question is how such a huge attack happened in an area considered quiet and safe like Bondi Beach. Who is the real conspirator behind this, and is there any further danger? The investigating agencies are trying to connect every link so that the truth comes out and the victims can get justice.
