Washington: The files of the Jeffrey Epstein case are again in the news in America, and meanwhile, President Donald Trump has attacked the Justice Department. Trump says that the department should make public the names of those Democrats who had connections to Epstein, because according to him the entire matter is a conspiracy by political opponents.

Why is Trump demanding to make the names of Democrats public?

Trump wrote on his social media site Truth Social that the Justice Department recently received about 1 million new documents related to Epstein. He claims the department is wasting its time on an “unnecessary political story” when the real issues should be addressed.

Trump said that the names of Democrats associated with Epstein should be revealed so that the country can know the truth.

Does Trump consider this investigation a political attack?

Trump says that the sudden increased interest in the Epstein case is actually an attempt to reduce his political influence. He wrote that all this is being done to divert people's attention from him and the achievements of the Republican Party.

He once again described it in terms like “witch hunt” and said that all this is being done in a planned manner.

What did Trump say in his Christmas post?

Even on Christmas Day, Trump wrote a long post in which he claimed that he had broken ties with Epstein years ago. He said that when the matter started getting serious, it was the Democrats and the media who shied away from Epstein, but now efforts are being made to put the blame on him.

What is happening legally? When will the files be released?

Last month, Congress passed a resolution that required the Justice Department to make public all non-confidential documents related to Epstein within 30 days. Trump also signed that bill and made it a law.

The deadline ended on December 19. The department released a large number of documents, which also contain references to Trump and former President Bill Clinton. However, MPs demand that all documents be released without necessary censorship.

What next after receiving 10 lakh new documents?

According to the Justice Department, authorities in New York have received so many documents that it may take a few more weeks to sort and release them. The department has said that given the sensitive information and legal process, delays are possible.
