US Elections 2024: In the vice presidential debate, Kamala Harris stated that U.S. forces were not involved in active combat zones. However, this claim appears to be contradicted by reports from U.S. Central Command, which disclosed that American forces were indeed involved in military operations in Iraq just weeks prior.

Combat operations in western Iraq

On August 29, U.S. Central Command confirmed that American forces, including elite Army Rangers, were part of a joint operation with Iraqi troops. The mission took place in western Iraq, where more than 200 soldiers hunted down ISIS fighters across miles of remote terrain. During this operation, 7 U.S. soldiers were injured, and 14 insurgents, including Abu Ali al-Tunisi, a top ISIS bomb maker, were killed.

Why the Discrepancy?

The announcement of this operation came on August 30, well ahead of the debate. Given this public information, it would have been relatively easy for news outlets or debate moderators to fact-check Harris's statement. Her claim of no active U.S. military involvement in combat zones appears to have overlooked this major operation, raising questions about the accuracy of her statement.

Meanwhile, in another clip which is going viral, a group of American commandoes can be seen mocking Kamala Harris from one of the operations in middle-east. They ask Kamala, "Where are we?"
