US Government Shutdown: In a latest development in the US politics, the US Federal government has announced shut down after it failed to pass a spending bill. This shutdown is one of the most serious in last six years as it is expected to cause major disruptions. Reportedly, due to this shutdown, most of the employees will face permanent layoffs and severals will not be paid.
The issue occurred due to medicaid funding cuts and healthcare subsidiaries. Reportedly, the Democrats wished to extend the subsidies, but the other party - Republicans wanted the budget cuts. Due to this conflict, proposal from both parties couldn't secure votes.
The current US government shutdown reflects the differences between Congress and Republicans. Notably, this can be one of the most serious shutdown threats.
Due to the ongoing US government shutdown, these services are expected to remain open:
Some of the services will be at risk or be temporarily closed including WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Program), Smithsonian Museums and National Zoo, National Parks, essential federal employees are required to work but will not be paid as of now.
Due to the shutdown, several essential services will be at risk or workers will work without pay until the shutdown ends. These services includes military, air traffic control and other essential workers. Some of the institutions FDA, NIH, CDC, and many other services will shut parts of their work.
