Washington: Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia for the last two and a half months, America has intensified preparations for possible military action against Iran. According to reports, the Trump administration is working on a new military plan named 'Operation Sledgehammer'. It is believed that if the current ceasefire is broken then America and Israel together can launch major attacks.

Can new attacks start next week?

American media reports claim that America and Israel are engaged in the biggest military preparations since the ceasefire. The New York Times, quoting sources in West Asia, has said that new attacks on Iran's military and strategic targets could be launched from next week.

Are there preparations to target nuclear sites?

According to the report, American special operations forces can also be included in this operation. The objective of these forces will be to locate nuclear bases and sensitive military material hidden deep underground. It is reported that hundreds of American soldiers were sent to West Asia in March itself.

Why did Trump's attitude suddenly increase in aggression?

Experts believe that the American stance has become tougher after the discussion on Iran issue between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to China. At present, America and Israel are also conducting joint military exercises.

Has Iran also started preparing for war?

In view of the fear of possible attacks, Iran has also increased its military preparations. Tehran claims that air defense systems damaged in previous attacks are being reactivated. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that his army is fully prepared to respond to any attack.

What new step did Iran take regarding the Strait of Hormuz?

Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran's National Security Committee, said that a new mechanism has been prepared to control maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. Under this, only commercial ships and Iran's allied countries will be given special facilities and a fee will also be charged for this.

What claim did America make regarding the Strait of Hormuz?

According to US Centcom, so far 78 ships have been returned to the Strait of Hormuz, while four ships have been disabled. It is clear from this that the tension in the area still remains very serious.
