Trump Reveals Missing US Pilot Rescued In Iran Operation: 'We Got Him'

Washington: The United States has said it has rescued the second pilot of an F-15 fighter jet from Iran. The pilot was a colonel responsible for launching weapons from the fighter jet. President Donald Trump confirmed the rescue operation was successful, saying, "We rescued him." 

What did Trump say?

US President Donald Trump on Sunday said that the crew of a missing F-15 fighter jet had been rescued after a "daring" search and rescue operation. 

According to Trump, this was possible after the military deployed dozens of aircraft equipped with "the world's deadliest weapons."

What happen?

On Friday, Iran shot down a US fighter jet, a two-seater F-15E Strike Eagle, carrying a pilot and a weapon systems officer. The F-15 pilot was rescued shortly afterward during a rescue operation, but the weapon systems officer was missing, who was rescued after a fierce battle late last night. 

US President Donald Trump provided details about the pilot's rescue in a lengthy post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

What did Trump say about rescue operation of the American pilot?

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared details about how the pilot was rescued two days after he went missing. 

"My fellow Americans, over the past several hours, the United States Military pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in US History, for one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and who I am thrilled to let you know is now SAFE and SOUND!" he wrote.

The US President said that "At my direction, the US Military sent dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve him. He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine."

"He has injuries but will fully recover." Trump said the US military rescued another brave pilot on Saturday. 

Donald Trump wrote, "This is the first time in military history that two American pilots have been rescued in separate missions deep inside enemy territory. We will never leave any American soldier behind! The fact that we were able to successfully complete both of these missions without any American service members being killed or injured proves once again that we have achieved overwhelming air dominance and superiority over Iranian skies. This is a moment that all Americans, whether Republican, Democrat, or otherwise, should be proud of and unite. We truly have the finest, most professional, and most lethal military in the history of the world. God bless America, bless our troops, and Happy Easter to all!"

Providing details of the operation and soldier, Trump said, "This brave Warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour. But he was never truly alone, as his Commander-in-Chief, Secretary of War, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and fellow warfighters were monitoring his location 24 hours a day and working diligently on a rescue plan," Trump concluded.
