US President Donald Trump To Host Iraqi PM Ali Al-Zaidi At White House In Mid-July

President Donald Trump will welcome Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to the White House in mid-July to discuss the bilateral relationship and the dismantling of non-state armed groups operating outside state authority.

Washington: United States President Donald Trump is going to host Ali al-Zaidi, Prime Minister of Iraq, at White House. It is said by the office of Iraqi leader and the US Embassy in Baghdad. It is said on Tuesday, June 16.

Iraqi leader and Mr. Trump's special envoy conveyed in a joint statement, "Special Presidential Envoy Barrack conveyed President Trump looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to the White House mid-July to discuss the future of this important relationship"

When this announcement conveyed?

This announcement conveyed during Mr. Barack's visit to Baghdad, capital of Iraq. During the visit, he discussed about the disarming and dissolving the armed groups of Iraq. The groups operating out of the state control and not a part of state authority.

Which groups are operating outside the state authority?

The groups which are not part of state sponsored military personals are termed as Non-State Armed Groups (NSAGs). In which, Militias, insurgent movements, rebel armies, and extremist organizations that operate outside formal state military or police structures. They have the capacity to mobilize resources, challenge the state authority, and control territory independent of the central government.

Which are Non-State Armed (NSA) groups in Iran?

These groups are operating under the umbrella of the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq". There are multiple Shia militias are incorporated with the state-sanctioned Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). But, most of these groups are often operate independently of Baghdad's military command. Several such factions take directives from Iran and act autonomously on regional security issues. Kata'ib Hezbollah is one of the enormous armed factions. It maintains its own operational and financial infrastructure. Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba is also a prominent faction with close ties to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The another one is Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada. It is known for it's ideological commitment to the Axis of Resistance. It is also acting outside the Iraqi state's war decisions.

What US special envoy in Iraq had said?

He tweeted on X that he is delighted and privileged to return to Baghdad to connect with our dedicated U.S. Embassy team, under the leadership of Chargé d’Affaires Joshua Harris.

He also added his agenda today includes a meeting with Prime Minister Al-Zaidi to affirm President Trump’s commitment to his administration, while exploring fresh avenues to build a robust and mutually advantageous partnership between the U.S. and Iraq.
