Tehran: Uncertainty persists regarding the potential deal between Iran and the United States. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that while a deal is close, one should refrain from speculating about its contents until it is finalized.
The Iranian Foreign Minister shared these remarks in a post on X. Araghchi emphasized that a responsible and transparent approach would be adopted, and all details of the deal would be shared with the public at the appropriate time.

How did US President Donald Trump react to Abbas Araghchi’s statement?

US President Donald Trump reposted Araghchi’s statement on his social media platform, Truth Social. This signals that negotiations are moving in the right direction, despite disagreements over the terms of the proposed agreement.

While there is much speculation regarding the terms of the deal, uncertainty remains about the actual facts. This is partly because US Vice President JD Vance has noted that a significant amount of misinformation is being circulated.

JD Vance stated, "I am seeing a lot of misinformation regarding the potential agreement to reopen the Strait and dismantle Iran's nuclear weapons program."

Regarding the terms of the deal, he clarified that Iran is not receiving any cash payments, nor are funds being released merely for signing the agreement or attending a meeting. The agreement is structured to prioritize the concerns of the US and its allies; if the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfills its obligations, both the country and the entire region stand to gain economically. This agreement holds the potential to transform the region and usher in long-term peace. Vance remarked that there has been some peculiar reporting on this issue.

What did Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif say?

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also stated that an agreement has been reached on the wording to be used in the peace deal. He wrote on X, "Amidst Pakistan's sustained and vigorous mediation efforts for peace, we are fully aware of the ongoing disinformation campaign being waged by those seeking to derail the peace agreement. Setting aside the noise, we can confirm that a consensus has been reached on the final draft of the peace agreement, and Pakistan is now working closely with both parties to finalize the next steps."

In a report, Al Jazeera has cited a US official claiming that under this deal, Iran will dismantle its nuclear program and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The official stated that under the agreement, Iran's nuclear program would be dismantled, and the associated enriched uranium would be destroyed and removed. The Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, and Iran would cease funding armed groups. It is expected that the deal will be signed in Geneva, Switzerland, in the coming days.
