Xi Jinping Warned Donald Trump That Russia Could Pay Heavy Price for Ukraine War Decision: Report (X)
Beijing: A big claim has come to light regarding the recent meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to reports, during a conversation in Beijing, Xi Jinping told Trump that Russian President Vladimir Putin may regret the decision to attack Ukraine in the future. It is being said that many international issues including the Russia-Ukraine war were discussed in detail between the two leaders.
According to the Financial Times report, Ukraine war was a major issue of this meeting. It is claimed that Xi indicated that Putin's military action on Ukraine could prove costly for Russia in the long term. The special thing is that Xi Jinping had never made such a comment on Putin's decision in public before. China always maintains balance, hence this statement is shocking.
It is also written in the report that Trump made a different proposal. He said that America, China and Russia should work together against the International Criminal Court i.e. ICC. Trump has already been speaking against the ICC. But in the official statement that came from the White House, there was no mention of the discussion on Ukraine or Putin.
Look at the timing. Trump had just left Beijing when Putin was about to reach China. Xi and Putin are to meet after a few days. Russia and China have already announced a “No Limits Partnership." In such a situation, the world's eyes are fixed on the Trump-Xi talk and then the Putin-Xi meeting.
It has been more than 4 years since the war. Now this fight has dragged on for a long time. Ukraine is attacking Russian military bases with drones. In response, Russia is also firing missiles at Ukraine. Last week, the news of drone attacks around Moscow further increased the tension. No one from either side is ready to bow down.
Washington's old allegation is that China is helping Russia behind the scenes. America says that China is giving goods to Russia which can be useful in war. Like chips, machine parts etc. But China every time says that it is neutral. It has nothing to do with any war.
Experts believe that if this report is true then China's stand is changing slightly. Until now, China had not openly spoken against Putin. This diplomacy is intensifying between America, China and Russia. This may also change the direction of Ukraine war in the coming days. Everyone will be keeping an eye on Putin's visit to China to see what stance Xi takes now.
