Earlier, weakening of eyes was considered a sign of increasing age, but since few decades, eye related diseases and problem of weak vision are being seen not only in the elderly but also in youth and children. Lack of nutrition due to poor diet, pollution, not taking care of hygiene, not wearing glasses in sunlight and long screen time are many things which harm the eyes. If symptoms like itching, dryness appear in the eyes then they should not be ignored.

By following some tips, you can not only get relief from dryness and itching of the eyes, but will also be protected from the problem of weak eyesight.

Do follow this eye excercise

To avoid the problem of dryness and itching in the eyes, one should blink one's eyelids. For this, first sit comfortably. After this, focus on something kept at some distance from you and blink your eyelids for a few seconds. When you blink your eyelids, it activates the retina and helps in maintaining moisture in the eyes. With this exercise you can also avoid the problem of weak eyesight. However, avoid blinking excessively.

Follow these basic tips

To avoid the problem of dryness and itching in the eyes, cold compress should be used. Apart from this, if you are going out then definitely wear sunglasses, so that your eyes are protected from direct exposure to sunlight and wind. If you are working on a computer, take a break of 20 seconds after every 20 minutes to rest your eyes. Do not use mobile phone about 1 to 2 hours before sleeping at night.

Drink plenty of waters

Dryness in the eyes occurs when the tear gland does not produce enough tears and due to this, apart from dryness in the eyes, itching, burning, redness and stinging starts to be felt. Therefore, it is important that along with drinking plenty of water, you should consume foods that are rich in water.

Take proper diet

To keep eyes healthy, include things rich in Vitamin A, Omega 3, Vitamin E like fish, carrots, almonds, apricots, pineapple, berries etc. in your diet.

Contact doctor

If you are experiencing problems like pain, heaviness, redness, dryness, itching in the eyes and this problem does not go away even after about 6 to 7 days, then immediately contact the doctor without any delay.
