National News:  There is an atmosphere of fear and restlessness among the slum dwellers in the Nangli Dairy area of Matiala Assembly of Delhi. People are afraid that their houses can be demolished anytime. The BJP government has issued a notice to remove the slums here. These are the houses that people had built with years of hard work. Now those same people are forced to live in the shadow of fear. Aam Aadmi Party leader and Leader of Opposition Atishi reached Nangli Dairy on Tuesday.

She met the slum dwellers there and heard their grief. Seeing the fear in people's eyes and helplessness in their hearts, Atishi became emotional. An elderly woman said that the house she built with her life's earnings, will she have to see it demolished now?

Didn't just break down walls

Atishi said that the BJP government is not just breaking walls, it is breaking the dreams of the poor. This is not just a matter of houses, it is a question of their existence. Displacing the poor is a kind of attack on their right to live. Aam Aadmi Party will become the voice of these people from the streets to the court.

The situation is the same in other slums too

Atishi said that before Nangli Dairy, the BJP government has demolished slums in Wazirpur, Madrasi Camp and Bhumihin Camp. Now the poor are being rendered homeless one by one. The government's attitude is anti-poor. Those to whom promises were made before the elections are now being evicted.

Promises are false, bulldozer is true

Before the elections, BJP leaders had said, "Where there is a slum, you will get a house." But now the slums have been demolished and a ground has been built. Atishi said that this is a sheer betrayal of the poor. The lives of those from whom the government sought votes are now being ruined.

The battle will be fought in court as well

Atishi said that Aam Aadmi Party will never leave these poor people alone. A senior lawyer will fight the case in court on their behalf. We will try our best to save these houses. This is not just a slum, it is someone's life savings.

As long as we breathe, we are together

The Leader of Opposition said that whether we are in the government or in the opposition, as long as there is breath in our body, we will keep fighting for the poor. We will not let the poor of Delhi be displaced. The party was with them earlier, is with them now and will remain with them in the future too. The anti-poor face of BJP is now in front of everyone.
