Jammu & Kashmir: The situation on the Line of Control in Kashmir seems to be becoming serious once again. BSF has said that 69 launchpads are active in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and about 120 terrorists are present around them. Security agencies believe that these groups may try to infiltrate the Indian border as soon as they get a chance. After receiving this input, vigilance has been increased in the border areas.
According to BSF officials, many terrorist hideouts and launchpads suffered significant damage during Operation Sindoor, conducted in May. After this, Pakistan moved these positions inside the forests and villages so that the direct firing range of Indian soldiers could be avoided. However, despite changing the location, the activities of these launchpads have not stopped. This is the reason why security agencies are now closely monitoring every movement.
BSF estimates that so far this year there have been only four infiltration attempts in the Kashmir sector. 13 terrorists were involved in these attempts. Of these, eight were killed, while five were forced to flee back. This number may seem low, but experts say that the presence of so many terrorists on the launchpads could be a sign of a bigger effort ahead.
BSF also informed that 'silent recruitment' activities of terrorist organizations are continuing. The new boys are being influenced both online and offline. Security agencies believe that even though terrorism at the ground level in the valley has weakened, the strategies of organizations sitting across the border are constantly changing, and they want to maintain their presence by any means.
BSF has clearly stated that if there is any “misadventure” from the Pakistan side, they are fully prepared to launch the next phase of Operation Sindoor. According to security forces, at present arrangements have been made for multi-level surveillance, advanced sensor systems, and high-alert patrolling on the LoC.
The force claims that the soldiers deployed on the border are ready to respond to every situation. The current situation shows that the danger is not over yet, and more vigilance will be required on the LoC in the coming weeks.
