Madhya Pradesh: The incident of the sexual assault of a 6-year-old innocent girl in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, shook the entire state. The police have injured the accused Salman in a short encounter and arrested him. While taking accused Salman from Gandhinagar, the tire of the police car got punctured in Kiratnagar near Bhojpur. Meanwhile, Salman tried to escape and snatched the police's gun and started firing. In response, the police shot him in the leg. At present he is undergoing treatment in the government hospital of Bhopal.
After the incident, angry local people caught the accused Salman and handed him over to the police. The police had also announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for his search.
On November 21, an innocent 6-year-old girl was playing outside her house. The accused, Salman, called her on the pretext of chocolate and took her towards the forest. There he raped the girl and ran away. The crying girl was found in the forest by the local people and was immediately admitted to the hospital in Bhopal.
After this incident, people's anger erupted in every corner of Madhya Pradesh. There was a huge uproar in Raisen. Police forces from many districts had to be deployed. Stone pelting also took place during the protest. Effigies of the accused were burnt at many places.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav immediately took strict steps. He called an emergency meeting at 8:15 pm. Raisen SP Pankaj Pandey was attached to the headquarters, and Ashutosh was appointed as the new SP in his place. CM gave clear instructions for strict action.
Accused Salman is currently undergoing treatment in the government hospital of Bhopal. He was shot in the leg. Police have registered a case against him under the POCSO Act. The girl is undergoing treatment in Bhopal Hospital.
Many questions are arising in the minds of people. Was this encounter really in self-defense? When and what kind of punishment will the accused get? How will the girl's safety and her future be arranged? How much will the police system improve?
This incident has become a matter of embarrassment not only for Raisen but also for the entire Madhya Pradesh. The government took immediate action, but the public anger has not subsided yet. The case will be heard expeditiously in the POCSO court, and the accused will get the harshest punishment; this is everyone's demand.
