National News: A few days after the horrific Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad, in which 270 people lost their lives, officials on Tuesday confirmed that 163 dead had been identified through DNA testing. So far, 124 bodies have been handed over to the family members for the funeral. According to officials, due to the intensity of the collision and the fierce fire, many bodies were completely scorched or mutilated, which made the visual identity no longer possible. Forensic teams are working continuously so that the remaining bodies can also be identified and the victim families can get closure. This process is sensitive and taking time, but officials are saying that every effort is being made so that this work can be completed soon with accuracy and sensitivity.

Dr Rakesh Joshi, Medical Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, told a news agency, "So far 163 DNA samples have been matched, and 124 bodies have been handed over to the relatives. The remaining remains will also be handed over soon." Out of 71 people injured in the accident, 9 are still undergoing treatment, while 2 have died during treatment.
