Alamgir Alam in soup! ED recovers big bucks from aide of Jharkhand minister

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday recovered a huge amount of cash from the household help of Sanjiv Lal - Personal Secretary to Jharkhand Rural Development Minister and Senior Congress leader from the state, Alamgir Alam.

Several raids have been conducted at various locations in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand. It is worth noting that the raids have come in connection with the ongoing investigation into the case of Virendra K Ram, the chief engineer at the Jharkhand Rural Development Department who was arrested by ED in February 2023, the money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in implementation of some schemes.

Before this in 2019 and 2023 also, a huge amount was recovered in similar raids from one of his subordinates in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi. Following this, ED took the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
