Amarnath Yatra Bus Accident: 39 Pilgrims Injured After Bus Skids Off Road in J&K's Ganderbal

Srinagar: A heart-wrenching accident took place in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning. A bus full of devotees returning after Amarnath Yatra suddenly went out of control in Kangan area and met with an accident. 39 devotees are reported to have been injured in this accident. Thankfully, no deaths have been reported yet. After the accident, all the injured were immediately taken to the hospital. Doctors are treating them. As soon as information about the incident was received, the administration swung into action. Investigation has been started and officers have been asked to leave no stone unturned in the care of the injured.

How did the accident happen?

According to the information received, the bus returning after completing the Amarnath Yatra went out of control at a sharp turn in Ganiwan area. It is being told that the driver lost control of the vehicle. After this the bus slipped off the road and collided with a nearby house. The collision was so strong that the house was damaged, but this house also proved helpful in saving the bus from falling into a deep ditch and Sindh river.

How is the condition of the injured?

According to officers, most of the injured have suffered minor injuries. After the accident, everyone was first taken to the local hospital. Then the devotees in critical condition were shifted to SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar. Everyone is being treated under the supervision of doctors. The condition of most of them is now said to be stable.

As soon as the news of the accident was received, the local administration, police, security forces and relief teams reached the spot. People nearby also helped and helped in evacuating the people trapped in the bus. An ambulance was arranged and all the passengers were taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed concern over the accident. He took information about the condition of the injured from the officers. Instructions were given to the health department that all the injured devotees should get the best treatment and there should be no shortage of treatment. The administration is in constant touch with hospitals and district authorities.

What will be the focus of the investigation?

At present it seems that the driver has lost control. But along with this, technical fault in the bus, road conditions and other possible reasons will also be investigated. Further action will be taken after the report comes. Security increased on the Yatra route. After the accident, the administration has asked the officers deployed on the Amarnath Yatra route to be more alert. Drivers have been implored to drive carefully and follow the prescribed speed limit.
