National News: The fifth generation 'Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft' (AMCA) mega project is going to give a new flight to India's indigenous defense capabilities. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday approved the implementation model of the project. This has cleared the way for the Indian Air Force to get such a state -of -the -art fighter jet, which will not only be able to attack the enemy's area deeply but will also be equipped with the stealth technique of dodging the radar.

What is AMCA project?

AMCA i.e. Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft is a fifth generation multi -purpose fighter aircraft that will be developed in India itself. It will have stealth technology, superior avionics, electronic warfare systems and supercruze capabilities. The aircraft will be in the medium weight category but its firepower will be huge.

Cost and implementation

The estimated early development cost of this project is around Rs 15,000 crore. The project will be implemented under the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of India, in which the participation of companies in both public and private sector will be ensured. According to the Ministry of Defense, this model will ensure transparent, competitive and balanced participation.

Private companies will get a big opportunity

Private companies will get an opportunity to participate openly for the AMCA project. They can bid independently or as a joint venture/consortium, provided they have at least one company Indian and follow all the laws in the country. This will strengthen the country's aerospace sector.

Indian Air Force Need

At present, the Indian Air Force has 31 squadrons, while the approved requirement is 42 squadron. In such a situation, the growth of indigenous fighter aircraft like AMCA will help in meeting the long -term needs of the Air Force and the dependence on imports will decrease.

Step towards indigenous engine

DRDO's GTRE GTX-35VS 'Kaveri Engine' project is also an important link in this direction. This engine can be used in future AMCA prototypes. If India develops this potential, it will be a major victory of the self -sufficient Bharat Abhiyan.

China-Pak alliance and regional security pressure

While China has tested the sixth generation fighter jet like J-36, it is also giving military assistance to Pakistan. Given these challenges, developing indigenous fighter aircraft for India has become not just an alternative, but a strategic imperative.

Next step after Tejas

After the success of LCA 'Tejas', AMCA will be India's second largest and most complex indigenous fighter aircraft project. This project will not only indicate India's technical self -reliance, but will also include India in the list of select countries that are capable of developing the fifth generation fighter aircraft themselves.

The implementation of the AMCA project can prove to be a historic turn in India's aerospace and defense sector. This will not only increase the firepower of the Indian Air Force, but will also give a new direction to the country's strategic freedom and defense manufacturing capabilities. This is a decisive flight towards self -sufficient India.
