A historic moment awaits Sitamarhi today as Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for a grand Maa Sita temple at Punaura Dham, the birthplace of Maa Janaki. The event, seen as a day of pride for millions of Sanatanis across the country, will also be attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Punaura Dham’s Mahant Kaushal Kishore Das Ji Maharaj. With this ceremony, the long-awaited dream of building a majestic temple dedicated to Maa Sita is set to begin.

Know Amit Shah’s Minute-to-Minute Program

The bhumi-pujan (ground worship) and foundation stone laying will be conducted with full rituals and chanting of Vedic mantras. All preparations for this have been completed. The bhumi-pujan will be performed by a total of six scholars three from Mithila University and three from Kashi University. Renowned and senior saints from various major monasteries and temples of the country will be present at the site to witness the bhumi-pujan and foundation stone ceremony. After the bhumi-pujan at the site, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will interact with the saints for about seven to eight minutes, accept their offerings, and receive blessings.

After that, the Home Minister and the Chief Minister will go to the devotees’ congregation pandal, where they will address the thousands of devotees present. The pandal has seating arrangements for about 50,000 people. The auspicious time for the bhumi-pujan and foundation stone laying has been fixed from 1:55 PM to 3:15 PM.

Workers Give Final Touch to Preparations

For about the past week, preparations have been going on continuously at Punaura Dham by the administration and temple management. Hundreds of workers have been working day and night. The entire administrative team is camped at Punaura Dham. Both inside and outside the Punaura Dham temple premises, police officers and a large number of male and female police personnel have been deployed. Police are stationed at every corner. They are keeping a close watch on every activity. The dog squad team is fully present at the site for inspection and surveillance.

Traffic and Security Preparations Complete: SP

SP Amit Ranjan said that all magistrates and police officers have been briefed and given necessary instructions. Arrangements for traffic and vehicle parking have been made. The municipal corporation has arranged for drinking water and toilets. The German hangar has been set up and is ready. The media gallery has been prepared. The temple has been decorated with the most attractive lights and flowers. All types of arrangements, including the construction of the pandal at the foundation stone site, have been completed. Police officers and personnel from several districts have been deputed for security during the event. Among them are four to five officers of DIG rank as well.
