Arvind Kejriwal Leads Protest March To PM's Residence Over E20 Fuel Policy

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal along with other party leaders led a protest march towards the Prime Minister's residence in Delhi to protest against the E20 petrol policy on Tuesday.

What was their protest about?

On Tuesday, the party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh held a sit-in protest on Firoz Shah Road against the E20 petrol policy when police blocked their way to the Prime Minister's residence.

AAP national convenor was joined by party leader Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and other party leaders and workers who were chanting slogans against E20 petrol.

How about the petition?

Prior to the march, Kejriwal had announced that he will hand over letters signed by over 2 lakh people to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ethanol is being forcibly imposed on the public by mixing it with petrol.

"I have brought with me a petition with more than 230,000 people's signatures, the government should not force anyone to use E20 petrol today, we have come here only to meet the PM," Kejriwal added.

The AAP chief also alleged that ethanol-blended petrol is being promoted in India under pressure from the United States and that this is having the maximum impact on the ordinary people who own vehicles. Kejriwal also sought an meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he wants to talk directly to the government.
