Baghpat police bribe: A shocking incident of corruption has surfaced in Baghpat district after a video went viral on social media, showing a sub-inspector allegedly demanding a bribe for taking action in a case. The video has stirred widespread outrage and led to immediate action by the authorities.

Sub-inspector caught red-handed in bribe scandal, video surfaces

The viral video reveals a conversation between the sub-inspector and an unidentified individual, where the officer is heard refusing a bribe offer of Rs 20,000, insisting on the previously agreed amount of Rs 25,000. "I will not take 20 thousand, we had talked for 25," the sub-inspector can be heard saying, exposing a blatant demand for money to proceed with a legal matter.

Suspension and investigation ordered

Following the viral spread of the video, the sub-inspector, who was stationed at a police outpost under the Baghpat police station, has been suspended. Taking immediate cognizance of the video, Baraut’s area officer has been assigned to conduct an investigation into the matter.

Local authorities, including the City Magistrate of Baghpat, have also been directed to conduct a thorough inquiry and take appropriate legal action against the corrupt officer. The video has sparked a public outcry, demanding transparency and accountability in police department.
