In a major action in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, police have busted a sex racket running inside a restaurant near Sagunha Tirahe in the Babatpur area. This is the third such case reported in the city in just three days. During the raid on Wednesday, a special police team found a hookah bar and illegal activities related to prostitution going on at the location. Four girls and six boys were caught from the spot, including the restaurant operator, Sarvesh Singh.
The police recovered new packets of condoms, aphrodisiac medicines, and several objectionable items from the spot. Earlier, the police had raided two spa centers in Sundarpur and busted two sex rackets there. In those raids, eight girls and five boys were caught. The girls apprehended were residents of Patna, Chandauli, and Varanasi.
Providing details of Wednesday's raid, the police stated that there were cabins built in the back portion of the restaurant, where four girls were found. Among them, one was from Patna, one from Azamgarh, and two from Sarnath. Of the six young men, five were from Varanasi and one from Jaunpur. The police had received information that objectionable activities were taking place at Anshika Restaurant operating at Sagunha Tirahe.
Following this information, Sub-Inspector Abhishek Kumar Pandey of SOG-2 and other policemen in plain clothes arrived at the location. During the conversations, the reports of the hookah bar and prostitution were confirmed. After that, the in-charge of the SOG-2 team and DCP Crime Sarvanan T. arrived at the spot with the force. Upon seeing the police, chaos broke out at the scene. The operator and other individuals tried to flee but were caught by the police.
