India News:Bikram Majithia, a prominent leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, sent an emotional letter from Patiala Jail, highlighting the poor conditions he was facing. He expressed his discomfort, mentioning how he was forced to sleep with his hand under the pillow due to the lack of basic amenities. In response, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann sharply criticized Majithia's complaint, mocking his plea and emphasizing that there would be no special treatment for any prisoner, regardless of their political status.
Bikram Majithia, who is in Patiala Jail, sent a heartfelt letter to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. In the letter, he shared his distress about the prison conditions, mentioning he’s forced to sleep with his hand under his pillow. Majithia appealed for better facilities and humane treatment.
In response, CM Bhagwant Mann gave a sarcastic reply, saying, "You won’t get a pillow." Mann made it clear that no special privileges would be given to anyone, regardless of their political position. He emphasized that everyone in jail is treated equally under the law.
Majithia was arrested in connection with a drug trafficking case. Despite being a senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), his arrest followed a court order. The SAD has criticized his arrest, calling it politically motivated by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
In his letter, Majithia complained about poor conditions in the jail, stating he wasn't given basic facilities, like a pillow, and had to sleep on the ground. He argued that this treatment violated his human rights and appealed for improvements in prison conditions.
CM Bhagwant Mann responded by defending the government’s strict policy on jail reform. He clarified that no VIP treatment would be given to anyone, regardless of their status. Mann emphasized that all prisoners are treated equally and the law applies to everyone, without exceptions.
This exchange highlights the ongoing tension between the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). While Majithia claims unfair treatment, AAP maintains that the law applies equally to everyone. This dispute could have wider implications for Punjab’s political landscape.
Majithia’s letter and CM Mann’s response sparked intense debate on social media. Supporters of Majithia feel he’s being mistreated, while others back CM Mann’s stance on equality in jail treatment. Public opinion remains divided, and the issue continues to be widely discussed.
