A 16-year-old boy lost his life following a celebratory firing incident during a birthday party in Patna. According to police reports the incident occurred late Monday night (December 23) at a lodge within the jurisdiction of the Sri Krishnapuri police station.Incident detailsThe victim, identified as Rishu Kumar, sustained a gunshot wound to the neck. Despite being rushed to a private hospital on Boring Canal Road, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Friends of the deceased reportedly fled after admitting him to the hospital.Deputy Superintendent of Police Saket Kumar confirmed, We received information about the firing in the Gandhinagar locality around midnight. The bullet was fired during a birthday party.Unlicensed weapon suspectedPreliminary investigations revealed that a group of 5-6 teenagers was partying on the terrace of the lodge when the firing occurred. Police suspect that the pistol used was unlicensed, and one of the boys might have accidentally shot Rishu during the celebration.Sri Krishnapuri Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Kumar stated, An empty bullet shell has been recovered from the scene.
