Gorakhpur: In a bizarre turn of events, a woman in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, has alleged that her daughter-in-law eloped with a tantrik who was called in to exorcise the woman's supposed possession by a ghost. The incident has left the family reeling and the police searching for the absconding couple.
According to the woman's mother-in-law, who filed a report at the Gulriha police station, the trouble began soon after her son's marriage a few years ago. The daughter-in-law allegedly exhibited erratic behavior, including sudden aggression and claims of being possessed. To appease the situation, the family called upon a tantrik to perform an exorcism.
Little did the family know that the tantrik's visits would lead to a shocking betrayal. The mother-in-law claims the tantrik and her daughter-in-law developed a relationship during his visits. While the alleged possession subsided, the truth remained hidden.
The facade shattered recently when the daughter-in-law, accompanied by her two children, attended a family function. It was here that she allegedly abandoned the children and disappeared with the tantrik. The distraught grandmother received a frantic call from relatives informing her of the situation.
The heartbroken mother-in-law, with her son unreachable abroad, is left caring for the two abandoned children. She has pleaded with the police to take action against the tantrik and locate her daughter-in-law. While seeking the return of her daughter-in-law, her primary concern lies in the well-being of her two grandchildren.
The Superintendent of Police (North) confirmed receiving the complaint and assured a thorough investigation. A case is being registered, and the absconding couple will be actively searched for.
