BSF foils terror plot in Amritsar, seizes huge cache of arms and ammunition

BSF, in collaboration with Punjab Police, has busted a major terror conspiracy. During a joint operation launched near Bharopal village, BSF seized a massive amount of arms, ammunition and hand grenades.

BSF Amritsar operation: In Amritsar, the Border Security Force (BSF) in coordination with the Punjab Police thwarted a serious terror plot. In a collaborative operation carried out close to Bharopal village, the BSF seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and hand grenades that proved successful in repelling any possible terror strike.

Punjab Police launched a joint search operation

The operation was initiated on the basis of reliable inputs received by the intelligence wing of the BSF. Intelligence inputs indicated a terror movement from the other side of the border, following which the BSF and Punjab Police launched a joint search operation. The operation was initiated last night in the area near Bharopal village. Following which the security forces thwarted the sinister plans of the terrorists.

Description of recovered material

During the search operation, BSF and Punjab Police seized 2 hand grenades, 3 pistols, 6 magazines and 50 live cartridges.The arms and ammunition were gathered in order to implement terrorist activities. The seized material has been surrendered to the Punjab Police for action and investigation.

This successful operation is the outcome of superb coordination and timely action between BSF and Punjab Police. Timely and coordinated action with Punjab Police has averted a potential major terrorist attack and reasserted its commitment to national security and safety of citizens.

Increased vigilance on the border

The BSF is ever vigilant to inhibit terrorist activities on the Punjab border. The BSF explained that intelligence mechanism will also be intensified to stop such activities on the border. Besides, joint operations with Punjab Police will be more intensified.
