Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi claims Centre 'snatched away' her house (X/ANI)

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi alleged that the Centre, led by the BJP, cancelled her official residence allotment a day ahead of the poll schedule announcement from the Election Commission. Delhi CM Atishi is accusing the BJP-led Centre of taking her out from the official chief minister residence just the day before the Election Commission announced the date schedule for Delhi assembly elections, which has raised a political controversy afresh as well as fed fuel to an already ongoing tussle between AAP and BJP.

Alleged eviction of Delhi Chief Minister

On Tuesday, Atishi accused the central government of evicting her from the official CM residence, claiming the BJP had cancelled her allotment just before the election schedule was announced. “They threw me out for the second time in three months,” she said. Atishi expressed frustration over the treatment she received, stressing that her family’s belongings were once again thrown out onto the streets.

Atishi’s Retort to BJP’s Actions

She sharply reacted to BJP's actions, saying that the party thought removing her from her home would stop her work. She said, "BJP thinks they will stop our work by snatching our houses, abusing us, and making personal remarks about our families, but it won't work. Our work will continue regardless." Her words make clear her intentions to move on with the work of the people despite the odds.

BJP Denies Charges, Gets New Flats

BJP's IT cell chief, Amit Malviya, rejected the charges and called it a 'lie.' Amit Malviya stated that she did not shift to the newly allocated flat Sheesh Mahal, and hence, the allotment was withdrawn. Subsequently, there were two other flat options mentioned in a letter that was issued by the Public Works Department of the Delhi government.
