Chhattisgarh News: In a harrowing incident in Janjgir Champa district, Chhattisgarh, a young man was brutally murdered by his girlfriends family after he visited her on Sunday night. The victim, identified as Tikaram Kevant, was 22 years old and hailed from Balodabazar. He had brought along his friend, Deepak, to meet his girlfriend when the tragic events unfolded.Encounter with ViolenceAs Tikaram began to engage in conversation with his girlfriend, members of her family suddenly appeared from behind and violently attacked him and Deepak. In the chaos, Deepak managed to escape, fleeing for his life. However, Tikaram was unable to escape the onslaught and succumbed to his injuries due to the severe beating he received.After the incident, Tikarams family took drastic measures, allegedly transporting his lifeless body to a nearby forest in Bilaspur and abandoning it there. The following day, authorities discovered the body, which prompted an immediate investigation by local police.Investigation and DiscoveryUpon finding Tikarams body, police were able to identify him through his mobile phone and wallet, which were located nearby. They promptly notified his family, who reported that he had gone out with Deepak but did not return home.During police questioning, Deepak provided a detailed account of the nights tragic events. Tikaram was my friend. His girlfriend lives in Janjgir Champa, and he came to meet her on Sunday night. I went with him, but we were attacked by her family, he recounted. Deepak explained that despite warnings from Tikarams girlfriend and her family to stay away, Tikaram insisted on visiting her.Family Grief and Police ActionThe police have since launched a thorough investigation, focusing on five individuals connected to the girls family, including her father, brother, and brother-in-law. Some suspects have already been apprehended as the investigation unfolds.
